What does Capitol Harp Ensemble offer?

Capitol Harp Ensemble mission is to offer communities in the Greater Lansing Area the opportunity to experience, learn and perform harp. So far, we offer three kinds of programs:

After-school classes are group class that is open to students from age 10 to high-school students. Students meet for 12 weeks and present a final recital at the end of a semester.

Adult Enrichment Classes are open to people who are either seasoned players or beginner players. Participants meet for five weeks of instruction and present at the final recital.

Capitol Harp Ensemble also partners with local libraries and local schools for presentations. Contact us directly if you are interested!

Do I need to have a harp?

No. The Capitol Harp Ensemble will provide the harps, music, and instructional materials at the class. However, the harps are shared facilities and not available to take home. If you would like to acquire a harp of your own after having some classes, we are happy to give you some information about buying or renting a harp from somewhere else.

What is the attendance policy?

Students are expected to attend and participate fully in every class offered to ensure the best learning experience. Only two unexcused absences are permitted per semester. If a student is out for two consecutive weeks in a row without excuse, their place in the class and ability to play the concert cannot be guaranteed. If you can not make the class due to illness, weather, or unavoidable conflict, contact us immediately. CHE is not obligated to make up class due to illness, weather, or unavoidable conflicts. We will try our best as we hope the students will do the same.

Do you offer scholarship or finanical aids?

Yes! We love helping out students who need some help to attend our program. Please sign-up our online form, and make a note that you need financial aids. You can also email us directly about it. Financial aids are given out to K-12 students preferably. Upon accepting the financial aids, you will be asked to participate to the fullest of the program.

How does the payment work?

You can choose to pay in full or pay a non-refundable $20 registration fee upon signing up. We ask you to pay in full after the very first class. We accept cash, checks, and card through online payment.

What is the cancellation policy?

If you decided to cancel after the first two weeks of the classes, we will refund you at the rate of $28/class. For example, if you attend the the first two weeks of the semester and decide this is not for you, we will refund you $280. However, no refund can be made after the second week.
